Michael R Addams is an attorney and owner of Addams & Associates, where he has built a practice focused on clear, practical legal solutions for individuals and organizations. He serves as Prosecutor for the City of Cheney and Eastern Washington University, and he brings additional judicial experience as a Judge Pro Tempore in Spokane County District Court and a Commissioner Pro Tempore in Spokane County Superior Court. His legal background includes extensive work in domestic violence cases, contract law, and legal writing, and he has contributed multiple articles to Washington State Bar Association publications. Michael also teaches law and ethics at Eastern Washington University, where he is known for helping students understand complex legal concepts in a clear and accessible way.
Beyond his legal practice, Michael has a long record of community and professional service. He is the former President and current Secretary of CASA Partners, a Spokane nonprofit supporting the juvenile court system and at‑risk youth. He has served as Chair of both the WSBA Pro Bono Public Service Committee and the WSBA Juvenile Law Section, and he was a member of the Washington Attorney General’s Office of Military and Veteran’s Legal Assistance Advisory Committee. He has also been invited to speak to the state’s legal community on issues of service, access to justice, and professional responsibility.
Michael’s commitment to public service began long before his legal career. He is a 24‑year veteran of the U.S. Air Force and Washington Air National Guard, where he served as both enlisted and officer, rising to the rank of Master Sergeant and serving as a First Sergeant before commissioning as an Air Force officer. His service included two overseas deployments and multiple commendations, including the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, two Air Force Achievement Medals, and the Global War on Terror Expeditionary Service Medal.
Michael moved to Spokane to attend Gonzaga University School of Law after completing his Bachelors of Arts in Criminal Justice at Weber State University, and quickly came to love the Spokane community. He and his wife, Amber, are proud to raise their four children in Spokane — the place they choose to call home.
From contributing to volunteering, there are simple ways to support a campaign focused on fairness, accountability, and public safety.
